Stef and Dan’s ceremony was held at the Royal Botanical Garden’s in Burlington, which served as an incredible backdrop to this beautiful day. I try to point the cameras at inspiring sights wherever they might be found throughout the day, and the RBG didn’t fail to provide. I often found myself laughing out loud while editing this video; Stef is one of the most animated and lively people I’ve ever met. It’s infectious! The night capped off at Liuna Station in Hamilton. The “Kissing Game” demanded that their guests demonstrate wrestling, judo or rugby moves (instead of the traditional clinking of glasses) to get the couple to lock lips. Needless to say, this is the first wedding where I’ve shot footage of multiple body-slams… I hope it’s not my last :-)

karen+aaron // Just Takes a Little // Cambridge Mill Wedding
Karen and Aaron’s ceremony was held at the open-air amphitheater in Mill Race Park, Cambridge, and the festivities continued on to the Cambridge Mill, overlooking the Grand River. I hadn’t seen a Chinese Tea Ceremony since my uncle’s wedding many years ago, so it was a bit of a fun throwback for me. That, and the numerous wardrobe changes made by Karen! She looked absolutely stunning in each. Aaron couldn’t wait to kiss his new bride, so I weaved that story-line into the narrative of this Highlight Edit… when the time comes, their relief and joy is tangible.

kate+andrew // The Thought of You and I
And now for something a little different. Well, Kate and Andrew are unique people. Their wedding was no-frills, old-fashioned, rustic bliss. I wanted the video to truly capture their sweet, playful personalities, and the character of the entire day. It’s rough around the edges, at times grainy and out-of-focus, like an old home movie. The Super-8’s from a time before video… the wedding itself could have been out of the same period.
The song is “The Thought of You and I” by Ma Petite (licensed through the artist). 2nd camera was Steven Yu, and my assistant was Jack Szatko. I shot Kate and Andrew’s engagement photos earlier in the year at the same location: check out the big gallery or the blog post!
