FAMILY PORTRAITS

I have tons of fun photographing families. And that’s the way it should be. I really think that it shows through in the photos when you are actually having a good time—subject and photographer. It’s best to stay away from over-complicated setups and too much “posing”, and I always encourage people to come up with their own ideas on the day of the shoot, no matter how crazy. I want you to be yourself, and trust that I’ll make you look like a million bucks! The standard fee for a family portrait session is $400, and includes: up to two hours of shooting, all the shots in high and low resolution on a custom designed disc, and a personal web gallery to share with your friends and family. I just shoot and shoot and shoot, and usually, the families get tired before I’m ready to quit. Here’s a quick message I recieved after a family session: “Thank you again for giving us such a fun afternoon. I have wanted to do this for YEARS! You have no idea what it meant to me and now we have keepsakes of the four of us to have for future generations.” —Mo Killick

IN THE STUDIO OR OUT IN THE WILD

I let you come up with the location, but if you’re tapped for ideas, I’m always on the lookout for cool spots. If a location has special meaning to you, it adds another level of story to the photos. Shooting outside is awesome but sometimes mother nature has other plans. I’m always asked, “what if it rains”? Well, we can reschedule, or the backup plan can be to shoot in-studio, like a mini photobooth. It’s more comfortable and we’re not struggling with the elements. It’s also another option to consider regardless of the weather. The Photobooth has a certain aesthetic that works well for family shoots, and it usually yields a lot more photos.
